A beautiful woodland trail circling the Transfiguration monasteries and the Ayyubid-Crusader fortification walls atop the isolated 588 m mountain. Sweeping views open toward the Jezreel Valley, Ksulot basin, the Nazareth hills and Mt. Hermon, amid rich winter blooms of Nazareth iris and cyclamen. Loop, 2.7 km, 1.5–2 h. Easy–moderate: rocky path, not stroller-accessible. Black markers, trail map 3. Very shaded (70%). Water and toilets only at the church compound during opening hours. Poor visibility in winter fog. The winding road from Shibli is closed to buses (paid shuttles).
