Mensa Christi Church
An intimate 1861 church around the "Table of Christ" rock in the Latin Quarter — mornings only, by appointment.
A small, intimate church from 1861 enclosing a huge limestone rock (3.6 × 2.7 m) on which, by Franciscan tradition, Jesus dined with his disciples after the Resurrection. A haven of quiet from the market bustle. Note: the church is locked most of the day — open Mon–Sat 08:00–12:00 only, with prior arrangement via the Basilica of the Annunciation pilgrims' office. Not to be confused with the Church of the Primacy of Peter (Mensa Christi) at Tabgha on the Sea of Galilee. Modest dress; free; not accessible (steep stepped alley).
