Mount Arbel Cliff & Cave Fortress Trail
A 390 m cliff lookout over the Sea of Galilee — accessible promenade (1 km) or a challenging pegs-and-cables trail to the cave fortress (3.2 km).
A breathtaking vertical cliff lookout rising 390 m above the Sea of Galilee — one of Israel's most famous views. Two routes: the Carob Lookout — a short, fully accessible path (1 km, easy/family); and the Fortress & Cliff Trail — a challenging loop descending the cliff (3.2 km, 2.5–3.5 h, 220 m down and up) to the ancient cave fortress expanded by Ali Beik al-Ma'ani in the 17th century, using iron pegs and steel cables — experienced hikers only, not for small children. INPA red/black markers. No shade on the cliff; water at the visitor centre only. Serious danger when wet — the lower trail closes immediately in rain. Paid INPA site.
